The Stibiotantalite Butterfly has a 5.07 carat stibiotantalite from Afghanistan forming the body. The wings are accented with 1.24 carats of vivd blue hauyne from Germany. And there are 0.05 carats of cassiterite from China for the eyes. The 18k yellow gold Stibiotantalite Butterfly is part of a collection of 18 jeweled butterfly brooches created and designed by Elvis "Buzz" Gray and Bernadine Johnston. The butterflies were gifted to the National Gem Collection by the Smithsonian Gem and Mineral Collectors.
