DC Up Close Family Workshop
Kids & Families, WorkshopsSaturday, July 13, 2024, 1 – 5:30pm EDT
Explore the biodiversity of DC and the surrounding areas from a new view…through a microscope! Through weekly prompts sent through email, families will be invited to get outside and make observations with their own pocket microscope, take pictures, and then share what they discovered with others. Each family will take part in 2 different in-person workshops, where families will be provided with one microscope to take home to complete weekly prompts. Attendance at the workshops is mandatory. Registration is required.
The workshops will take place for 1-1.5 hours during the following time frames:
- Saturday, July 13: 1pm – 5:30pm
- Saturday, August 24: 10am – 3pm
Families who sign up for this workshop are committed to the following:
- Being present for 2 on-site workshops (during times listed above)
- Participating in 6 different observation prompts (sent via email)
- Emailing prompt-inspired observations within 5 days of prompt being sent
The workshop is designed with children 4-10 and their caregivers and families. Younger (and older) siblings are of course welcome to join in on the fun!
